The pianist, harpsichordist and theorist Jerassimos-Andreas Coidan was born in Athens in 1972. He began his musical studies at the age of six. At 1992 he was laureate for his piano diploma which he earned with the 1st Prize. He continued studying conducting and theoretic of music and he earned the diplomas of Harmony, Counterpoint and Fugue with the highest grade. Already at 1988 he had earned the diplomas 'Associate' and 'Licentiate Performer' from the Trinity College of Music, London. Since 1998 he is living in Belgium where he studied the harpsichord with Kris Verhelst and the organ with Lieven Strobbe, in the Lemmensinstituut of Louvain, obtaining the Diploma ‘Master in Music’. Further he specialized himself on playing on authentic historical keyboard instruments in the class of Jos Van Immerseel and Anne Gallowich at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp with further coaching by Miklos Spanyi and Jan Willem Jansen.

As a pianist, he participated in numerous master classes next to grate names like Sontraud Speidel, Olev Vlassenko and others. He also participated in numerous master classes for the interpretation of early music on historical instruments (Jos van Immerseel, Kris Verhelst, Peter van Heyghen).


Jerassimos-Andreas Coidan has appeared in many concerts as a pianist and harpsichordist in Greece, Belgium, Austria. He was praised for the quality and sensibility of his performances on both instruments. His interest is focused during the past few years on the historically correct performance of early music with historical instruments. He performs regularly on historical keyboard instruments, such as the famus Johannes-Daniel Dulcken harpsichord of 1747 at the museum ‘Vleeshuis’ in Antwerp.

Jerassimos-Andreas Coidan has taught piano and chamber music for several years in Athens and Belgium. Now he is Piano teacher at the Music Academy in Schilde (Belgium) and at Schiplaken's music school where he is also the Head of School. He has also worked at the International School of Brussels (ISB). He has been organist at the St. Agatha church in Wilsele.

As a performer, apart from his solo activity, he appears with the baroque ensemble ‘Amalia Ensemble’ and other ensembles. He consistently presents projects characterized by originality and his concerts have been always accepted with great interest by audience and the press.
